Delhi Government Announces ₹8,000 Relief for Construction Workers

In response to the severe air pollution crisis and the subsequent ban on construction activities in Delhi, the state government has decided to provide financial relief to registered construction workers. Over 90,000 workers, whose livelihoods have been disrupted by the construction ban, will receive a compensation amount of ₹8,000 each.

This measure is part of the government’s broader effort to mitigate the economic hardships faced by daily wage earners during periods of environmental restrictions. The construction ban, imposed to curb dust and emissions contributing to the city's hazardous air quality, has left many workers without income.

By offering this direct financial support, the Delhi government aims to provide immediate relief to affected families while maintaining its commitment to improving air quality.
