  India’s regional rapid transit system, Namo Bharat , has set a new benchmark by becoming the country’s fastest train, achieving a top speed of 160 kmph on the Delhi–Meerut corridor. The semi-high-speed service, designed for speed, safety, and passenger comfort, aims to significantly cut travel time between the two cities. The achievement places Namo Bharat ahead of other operational trains in India, including Vande Bharat Express, making it the first rapid rail to consistently operate at such speeds.   The Delhi government has announced that the national capital will have 6,000 electric buses on its roads by the end of this year.   Starting July 1, the Delhi government will ban refueling of older vehicles—specifically, diesel vehicles over 10 years old and petrol vehicles over 15 years old. Fuel stations across the capital will be equipped with surveillance cameras to monitor compliance.  This step aims to curb air pollution and enforce existing vehicle-age restrictions more strictly.
