  The long-awaited Jiribam–Imphal railway line is nearing completion and will soon connect Manipur’s capital, Imphal, to India’s national rail network.  This ambitious project, spanning challenging hilly terrains and featuring multiple tunnels and bridges, is one of the most significant infrastructure developments in the Northeast. Once operational, it will not only enhance connectivity and reduce travel time but also boost trade, tourism, and socio-economic growth in the region. The new link is expected to transform Imphal into a more accessible hub, bridging it closer with the rest of the country.

  India is set to achieve a major milestone in green transportation with the rollout of its first hydrogen-powered train by March 31, 2025. This initiative is part of the Indian Railways' push toward sustainable and eco-friendly mobility solutions. The hydrogen train, designed to operate with zero carbon emissions, will significantly reduce dependence on fossil fuels and contribute to a cleaner environment. It is expected to run on heritage routes like the Kalka-Shimla and other scenic railway lines before being deployed on broader networks. This project aligns with India's commitment to green energy and marks a step toward modernizing railway transport with cutting-edge technology. If successful, hydrogen trains could revolutionize India's rail network, reducing pollution and enhancing energy efficiency.
