India to Build 12 Sovereign AI Models to Address National Challenges: Ashwini Vaishnaw
India is set to take a major leap in artificial intelligence by developing 12 sovereign AI models aimed at solving critical national challenges, Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw announced at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos . The initiative forms a core part of India’s broader ambition to emerge as a trusted global technology partner while ensuring AI solutions are aligned with national priorities, data sovereignty, and inclusive growth.
