Starbucks to Open One Store Every Three Days in India, Aiming for 1,000 Cafes by FY28

Starbucks, the globally renowned coffeehouse chain, is accelerating its expansion in India with an ambitious goal of reaching 1,000 stores by the fiscal year 2028. The company currently operates 457 outlets across the country. This growth trajectory implies Starbucks will be inaugurating a new store approximately every three days.

The aggressive expansion aligns with India’s rising urbanization and the growing preference for premium coffee experiences among its middle and upper classes. Starbucks, which operates in India through a joint venture with Tata Consumer Products, has witnessed significant success since its entry into the market in 2012.

By targeting metro cities and smaller towns alike, Starbucks aims to strengthen its presence while adapting to the diverse preferences of Indian consumers. With innovative store designs, locally inspired menu options, and sustainable practices, the brand is setting the stage for a stronger foothold in one of the world’s fastest-growing coffee markets.

This expansion reflects Starbucks’ confidence in India’s potential as a key growth driver in its global portfolio.
