Nagpur to Launch India’s First Trolley-Electric Bus Service

Nagpur is set to make history by introducing India’s first-ever trolley-electric bus service. This innovative project aims to revolutionize public transportation by combining sustainability with advanced technology. Unlike traditional electric buses, trolley-electric buses draw power from overhead wires, significantly reducing the reliance on batteries and lowering maintenance costs.

The initiative is expected to minimize carbon emissions and promote eco-friendly urban mobility. Nagpur, already recognized for its progressive environmental policies, is positioning itself as a leader in green transportation with this bold step.

This service will initially operate on a dedicated corridor, ensuring efficiency and reliability for commuters. If successful, it could pave the way for similar systems across other Indian cities. The launch of this project represents a significant leap toward sustainable development in India’s urban transport sector.
