India-UAE Economic Dialogue: Strengthening Bilateral Ties in Ajman
In a significant move to deepen the economic and strategic ties between India and the UAE, Smriti Zubin Irani, former Cabinet Minister of India, participated in a landmark roundtable discussion hosted by His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ajman Government Executive Council. Held at Sheikh Rashid’s residence, the event, titled India-UAE Synergies: Exploring Strategic Market Opportunities in India, convened prominent business leaders and investors from the UAE.
Moderated by Dr. Ashwin Fernandes, author of MODIALOGUE and a leading voice on India’s development narrative, the discussions focused on technology, renewable energy, and education. These sectors were identified as pivotal to fostering innovation and achieving shared goals between the two nations.
Sheikh Rashid emphasized the historic bond between India and the UAE, highlighting mutual trust and shared ambitions as the foundation of their enduring partnership. He called for collaborative efforts to harness opportunities presented by India's rapid socio-economic transformation under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
Smriti Irani lauded the India-UAE relationship, reflecting on its shared values and the transformative vision of Modi’s governance. “India is emerging as a global leader in innovation and development. Collaborative platforms like this roundtable are essential for advancing our partnership,” she remarked.
The event also featured key Indian-origin business leaders from the UAE, including Sajith Ansar (Idea Spice), Dr. Ruchi Dana (Dana Group), and Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil (Burjeel Holdings). Their insights underscored the shared vision of progress and inclusivity driving India-UAE relations.
