  Foxconn has hired around 30,000 employees for its new iPhone assembly facility in Devanahalli, near Bengaluru, marking a major expansion of Apple’s manufacturing footprint in India.  The large-scale recruitment highlights the rapid progress of the unit, which is expected to play a key role in assembling next-generation iPhones for both domestic and global markets. The move strengthens Karnataka’s position as a growing electronics manufacturing hub and aligns with India’s broader push to become a global alternative in smartphone production and supply chains.

  Foxconn is set to expand its manufacturing footprint in India by establishing a new facility in Tamil Nadu dedicated to producing iPhone enclosures. This strategic move reinforces Apple’s growing reliance on India as a key production hub outside of China.  The proposed unit will focus on the critical component of the iPhone’s outer casing, enhancing the local value addition in Apple’s supply chain. This investment is expected to generate employment opportunities and strengthen Tamil Nadu’s position as a major electronics manufacturing destination in India.
