Indian Government Allocates Additional Rs 6,000 Crore for BSNL 4G Expansion

In a significant boost to India's telecom sector, the government has decided to allocate an additional ₹6,000 crore for the expansion of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited’s (BSNL) 4G services. This move is part of the government's ongoing efforts to strengthen the state-run telecom operator and enhance connectivity in rural and remote areas.

The fresh funding will help BSNL accelerate its 4G rollout using indigenous technology, reducing dependence on foreign vendors. This expansion is expected to improve network quality, increase data speeds, and provide a competitive edge against private telecom operators.

With this additional investment, BSNL aims to bridge the digital divide and contribute to the government’s vision of "Atmanirbhar Bharat" (Self-Reliant India) in the telecom sector. The move also lays the groundwork for BSNL’s eventual transition to 5G services in the near future.
