Andhra Pradesh Government to Acquire 4,000 Acres for Establishing a Greenfield International Airport in the New Capital City Amaravati

In a major step toward enhancing regional connectivity and infrastructure, the Andhra Pradesh government has announced its plan to acquire 4,000 acres of land for the development of a greenfield international airport near Amaravati, the state’s upcoming capital city.

The proposed airport is expected to play a key role in boosting economic growth, trade, and tourism, while also serving the long-term needs of the capital region. According to officials, the site selection process has been completed, and the land acquisition will begin shortly in collaboration with the concerned district administrations.

State authorities emphasized that the new airport will be developed with state-of-the-art facilities and is envisioned to meet international standards. Once completed, it will not only reduce air travel dependency on neighboring states but also attract global investors and businesses to Amaravati.

The airport project aligns with the government's broader vision of transforming Amaravati into a world-class city with robust infrastructure and sustainable urban planning. Environmental clearances, feasibility studies, and detailed project reports are currently underway to ensure smooth execution.
