India's First Dengue Vaccine Qdenga to Launch in 2026

India is set to introduce its first dengue vaccine, Qdenga, in 2026. Developed by the Japanese pharmaceutical company Takeda, Qdenga has already been approved in several countries and offers protection against all four dengue virus serotypes. The vaccine aims to significantly reduce dengue-related hospitalizations and severe illness, especially in high-risk areas.

Clinical trials have shown promising results, and regulatory approval in India is expected soon. With dengue cases on the rise, the rollout of Qdenga marks a major step forward in India’s public health response to mosquito-borne diseases.
