Prime Minister Narendra Modi set to launch projects worth ₹1 lakh crore for Amaravati city construction restart on May 2

In a major push to revive the development of Andhra Pradesh’s capital, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Amaravati on May 2 to kickstart infrastructure projects worth ₹1 lakh crore. This move marks the long-awaited restart of the city’s construction activities, which had been stalled for several years due to political and administrative hurdles.

The massive investment will focus on core infrastructure such as roads, government buildings, housing complexes, and public transport systems. The central government's involvement is expected to accelerate progress and renew investor confidence in the region.

Officials say the projects will generate thousands of jobs and help realize the vision of Amaravati as a modern, sustainable capital city. PM Modi’s visit will include a foundation stone-laying ceremony and public address, highlighting the Centre’s commitment to Andhra Pradesh’s development.
