Samsung Eyes India for Manufacturing Shift

 


South Korean tech giant Samsung is reportedly considering moving part of its smartphone and electronics manufacturing from Vietnam to India. The shift is seen as part of a broader strategy to diversify its supply chain and tap into India’s growing manufacturing ecosystem.

India has been actively promoting itself as a global manufacturing hub through initiatives like "Make in India" and offering incentives to electronics manufacturers. With its large workforce and rising domestic demand, India presents an attractive alternative to traditional manufacturing bases.

Samsung already operates a major manufacturing plant in Noida, India, and expanding its operations there could enhance cost efficiency and reduce over-reliance on Vietnam. This move aligns with global trends of companies reassessing supply chains in light of geopolitical and economic shifts.
