Andhra Pradesh Govt. Approves ₹2,100 Crore for Amaravati Capital Development in Q1 FY26
In a significant move to accelerate the development of Amaravati as the state capital, the Andhra Pradesh government has approved ₹2,100 crore for the project in the first quarter of the financial year 2025–26 (FY26). This is the first major allocation toward the capital city’s infrastructure development under the new fiscal plan.
The funds will be utilized for core infrastructure, including roads, drainage, water supply, and public amenities across the proposed capital region. The decision reflects the government’s renewed focus on fast-tracking Amaravati’s development after a period of slowdown.
Officials stated that the allocation is part of a larger commitment to build a well-planned administrative capital and boost economic growth in the region. More phases of funding are expected in the coming quarters as the project progresses.
