Telangana Bags ₹1,500 Crore Compressed Biogas Investment from Biovest, Spantech & EcoMax Alliance

In a significant boost to its green energy sector, Telangana has secured a ₹1,500 crore investment for compressed biogas (CBG) projects from a consortium of three major firms—Biovest, Spantech, and EcoMax Energy. This alliance aims to establish multiple biogas plants across the state, utilizing agricultural and organic waste to produce clean fuel.

The initiative aligns with Telangana’s push towards sustainable energy and rural economic development. It is expected to generate substantial employment, reduce dependence on fossil fuels, and support the central government's SATAT (Sustainable Alternative Towards Affordable Transportation) initiative.

State officials welcomed the investment, emphasizing Telangana’s readiness with clear policies, infrastructure, and resource availability to support large-scale bioenergy ventures. The first phase of plant development is expected to begin later this year.
