Union Govt. to Provide 11,000 Electric Buses Under PM E-Drive Scheme

 


In a major push for green public transport, the Union Government has announced the rollout of approximately 11,000 electric buses to major Indian cities under the PM E-Drive scheme. This initiative aims to reduce urban pollution and modernize public transportation systems.

As per the plan, Bengaluru will receive the highest allocation with 4,500 buses, followed by Delhi with 2,800. Hyderabad is set to get 2,000 electric buses, while Ahmedabad and Surat will receive 1,000 and 600 buses respectively.

The PM E-Drive scheme supports India’s commitment to sustainable mobility, offering eco-friendly alternatives and boosting electric vehicle adoption in urban centers.
