Delhi Bans Refueling of Older Vehicles from July 1

Starting July 1, the Delhi government will ban refueling of older vehicles—specifically, diesel vehicles over 10 years old and petrol vehicles over 15 years old. Fuel stations across the capital will be equipped with surveillance cameras to monitor compliance.

This step aims to curb air pollution and enforce existing vehicle-age restrictions more strictly. The move is part of Delhi’s broader push for cleaner air and stricter vehicular emissions control. Authorities have warned that violations will attract penalties and potential vehicle deregistration.
