Tamil Nadu’s First 10-Lane Expressway Set for 2026 Launch

Tamil Nadu is set to get its first 10-lane expressway, a major infrastructure milestone, with the Peripheral Ring Road (PRR) around Chennai expected to be completed by January 2026. Designed to decongest city traffic and boost connectivity, the 133-km-long PRR will link key national highways and industrial zones, easing movement of goods and people.

The ambitious project, backed by the state and central governments, is expected to significantly reduce travel time across Chennai’s peripheries and drive regional economic growth.
