Telangana Unveils 80-Acre Eco-Town in Hyderabad Inspired by Japan’s Kitakyushu

 


The Telangana government has announced an ambitious plan to develop an 80-acre Eco-Town in Hyderabad, drawing inspiration from Japan’s globally acclaimed eco-city, Kitakyushu. Designed to promote sustainable urban living, the project will incorporate green infrastructure, smart mobility, renewable energy, and zero-waste principles. 

Officials stated that the Eco-Town will serve as a model for future urban development, integrating eco-friendly housing, solar-powered public spaces, and advanced waste management systems. The initiative is part of Telangana’s broader push toward sustainable growth and international collaboration in climate resilience and smart city innovation.
