Bullet Train Project from Maharashtra to Sabarmati to Be Ready by 2029: Railway Minister

 


In a major update on India’s high-speed rail ambitions, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw informed the Lok Sabha that the entire Mumbai–Ahmedabad bullet train corridor, connecting Maharashtra to Sabarmati in Gujarat, is expected to be completed by 2029. 

The project, spanning approximately 508 km, is being built with Japanese collaboration and aims to drastically reduce travel time between the two states. Vaishnaw highlighted significant progress in land acquisition and construction activities, assuring that the government is committed to delivering this transformative infrastructure on schedule.
