India Achieves Landmark Milestone of 100 GW Solar PV Module Manufacturing Capacity

India has reached a historic milestone by achieving 100 gigawatts (GW) of solar photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturing capacity, marking a significant leap in the nation’s renewable energy journey. This achievement positions India among the top global players in solar manufacturing and strengthens its commitment to clean energy transition.

The milestone is a result of sustained government support, policy incentives, and rising private sector investments under initiatives like the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme. With this capacity, India is better equipped to meet its ambitious renewable energy targets, reduce dependence on imports, and boost domestic employment in the green energy sector.
