India Could Surpass US as OpenAI’s Largest Market: Sam Altman

 


OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has hailed India as the company’s second-largest market globally after the United States, adding that it could soon claim the top spot. Speaking on India’s growing role in AI adoption, Altman highlighted the country’s vast developer community, rapid digital transformation, and appetite for cutting-edge technology. 

He noted that OpenAI’s tools are increasingly being embraced across sectors in India — from education and research to business innovation — making it a critical hub for the company’s future growth.
