India needs to build a pool of 40–50 astronauts ready to lead future space missions — PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for the creation of a strong pool of trained astronauts as India accelerates its space ambitions. Speaking on the country’s long-term roadmap in space exploration, he emphasized that India must build a team of 40 to 50 astronauts capable of leading future missions.
The Prime Minister underlined that as India expands its presence in low-Earth orbit, deep space exploration, and human spaceflight programs, the demand for skilled astronauts will grow rapidly. “Our astronauts will not only represent India but will also carry the aspirations of 1.4 billion people into space,” he said.
