India Overtakes Japan as 3rd Largest Solar Energy Producer

India has officially surpassed Japan to become the world's third-largest producer of solar energy, according to the latest global energy data. India generated a remarkable 1,08,494 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of solar power, outpacing Japan’s 96,459 GWh output.

This achievement reflects India’s rapid progress in expanding its renewable energy infrastructure, driven by ambitious government targets, increased investment, and large-scale solar park developments. With this milestone, India now trails only China and the United States in solar energy production, reinforcing its position as a global leader in the transition to clean energy.
