Mumbai Plans Ropeway Link from Aarey to Film City, Possible SGNP Extension

 


Mumbai is set to explore a new ropeway project to enhance last-mile connectivity between Aarey Metro Station and Film City. The proposed aerial link aims to ease traffic congestion and provide a faster, eco-friendly commute for daily travelers and tourists.

Officials are also considering a possible extension of the ropeway to Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP), which could boost green tourism and accessibility to one of the city's largest natural reserves.

If approved, the project will be implemented on a public-private partnership (PPP) model and is currently in the feasibility assessment phase.
