Fujifilm to Begin Semiconductor Materials Production in India by 2028

Japanese multinational Fujifilm has announced plans to start production of semiconductor materials in India by 2028, marking a major step in strengthening the country’s chip-making ecosystem. The company aims to cater to the growing global demand for advanced semiconductors while supporting India’s ambitions to become a hub for electronics manufacturing.

Fujifilm’s investment aligns with New Delhi’s semiconductor mission, which is focused on reducing dependency on imports and building a resilient supply chain. The move is also expected to generate skilled jobs, boost local manufacturing, and attract further foreign investments in the high-tech sector.

With this initiative, India is positioning itself not only as a consumer market but also as a critical player in the global semiconductor supply chain.
