India announces $680 Million Infra & Aid Package for Mauritius

 


India has unveiled a $680 million infrastructure and aid package for Mauritius, further strengthening its deep strategic and cultural ties with the island nation.

The package includes funding for major infrastructure projects, support for affordable housing, renewable energy, healthcare, and digital initiatives, along with concessional credit lines to boost Mauritius’ development.

Mauritius welcomed the announcement, calling it a “milestone in bilateral relations” that will enhance connectivity, trade, and people-to-people exchanges.

The initiative comes as both nations continue to cooperate on maritime security, economic resilience, and cultural partnerships
