India’s semiconductor demand is projected to grow exponentially, with consumption expected to touch $100–$120 billion by 2030, according to the CEO of L&T Semiconductor Technologies. The surge will be driven by rapid advancements in 5G, electric vehicles, consumer electronics, artificial intelligence, and industrial automation.

The CEO emphasized that India’s growing digital economy and government initiatives to boost domestic manufacturing through the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme will accelerate this growth. Establishing a strong semiconductor ecosystem will be key to reducing import dependence and positioning India as a global hub for advanced technology manufacturing.
