India’s Smartphone Exports Jump 39% in August 2025

India’s smartphone exports surged 39% year-on-year to reach $1.53 billion in August 2025, reflecting the country’s growing dominance in the global mobile market. Notably, shipments to the United States doubled to $965 million, making the US the top destination for Indian-made smartphones.

Analysts attribute this growth to competitive pricing, increased local manufacturing under the “Make in India” initiative, and rising demand for affordable 4G and 5G devices. The trend underscores India’s rising footprint in the global technology supply chain and its potential to challenge traditional manufacturing hubs.
