Tata to set up India's first private helicopter assembly line in Karnataka

 


Tata Group is set to establish India’s first private helicopter final assembly line for Airbus H125 helicopters in Vemagal, Karnataka. This marks a major step in boosting India’s aerospace manufacturing capabilities and advancing the government’s Make in India initiative.

The facility will be responsible for assembling the Airbus H125, a versatile single-engine helicopter widely used for passenger transport, emergency medical services, disaster management, and aerial work. Once operational, the plant will not only cater to India’s growing civil aviation market but also support potential export demands.

This partnership between Tata and Airbus reinforces India’s position as an emerging hub for aviation and defense production, creating jobs, enhancing local skill development, and reducing dependence on imports in the aerospace sector.
