India’s Chip Ambition Accelerates

India is rapidly advancing its bid to achieve semiconductor parity with the US and China by 2032, driven by a robust $10 billion government-backed initiative. With major fabs under construction, expanded design capabilities, and strategic partnerships with global chipmakers, the nation is positioning itself as a competitive force in the global supply chain.

The semiconductor mission aims to reduce import dependence, boost domestic innovation, and create a full-stack ecosystem—from manufacturing and packaging to design and advanced research. As investments scale and policy support strengthens, India’s momentum signals a decisive shift toward becoming a world-class chip powerhouse in the coming decade.
