India's First Bullet Train Set for 2027 Launch

India’s ambitious bullet train project is moving closer to reality, with Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw confirming that the country’s first high-speed train will begin operations on a 100-km stretch between Surat and Vapi in August 2027.

This milestone section of the Mumbai–Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor will mark India’s entry into the elite league of nations with Shinkansen-level rail technology. Construction is progressing rapidly, including viaducts, stations, and track systems. The early operational stretch is expected to significantly boost regional connectivity, reduce travel time to mere minutes, and showcase India’s expanding infrastructural capabilities on the global stage.
