Maharashtra Partners with Elon Musk’s Starlink to Bring Satellite Internet to Remote Areas

Maharashtra has become the first Indian state to officially partner with Elon Musk’s Starlink to provide satellite-based internet connectivity across its remote and rural regions.

The initiative aims to bridge the digital divide by delivering high-speed internet to areas lacking reliable broadband infrastructure. Through this partnership, Starlink’s low-Earth orbit satellites will enable access to education, healthcare, e-governance, and e-commerce services in underserved communities, marking a major step toward digital inclusion and technological advancement in India’s hinterlands.
