Tata Power’s ₹10,000-Crore Boost for Odisha’s Solar Manufacturing

Tata Power has announced plans to invest ₹10,000 crore to establish a massive 10-gigawatt ingot and wafer manufacturing facility in Odisha, marking a major push toward strengthening India’s renewable energy supply chain. The proposed plant will support domestic solar module production by reducing dependence on imported components and creating a more resilient ecosystem for clean energy development. Expected to generate significant employment and spur local industrial growth, the project aligns with India’s broader goal of achieving self-reliance in solar manufacturing and expanding green energy capacity nationwide.
