Gomti Water Metro Plan

 


The Uttar Pradesh government is planning to introduce a Water Metro system on the Gomti River in Lucknow, aiming to ease urban congestion and offer a sustainable transport alternative. The project is designed to provide smooth, eco-friendly river-based connectivity across key parts of the city.

The proposed Water Metro is expected to boost tourism, reduce road traffic pressure, and promote the revival of the Gomti riverfront. Modern boats, dedicated terminals, and safety-focused infrastructure are likely to be key features of the initiative.

If implemented, the Gomti Water Metro could mark a major step in transforming Lucknow’s public transport system, combining heritage, mobility, and environmental responsibility in one forward-looking project.
