UAE–India AI Cooperation Dominates Global Summit Conversations

 


Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the AI Impact Summit on Thursday, launching what has been billed as one of the most influential global forums on artificial intelligence. He outlined India’s commitment to ethical, equitable and human-centric AI, urging nations to work together to ensure technology serves as a force for global public good.

While the Leaders’ Plenary brought together ministers, heads of state and technology visionaries to debate AI governance and interoperability, the most consequential diplomatic engagement occurred on the sidelines: India’s meeting with the United Arab Emirates, now one of its most trusted partners in digital transformation.

The UAE, which has invested heavily in AI talent, sovereign compute, and smart-government ecosystems, engaged in robust dialogue with India on co-developing future-ready digital infrastructure, fintech corridors, and AI-powered platforms for governance and sustainability. The UAE’s leadership emphasised the strategic importance of expanding India–UAE technological cooperation under CEPA, including joint R&D, AI safety frameworks and climate-tech innovation.

This engagement reflects the UAE’s pivotal role as a stability anchor for the region, a global technology testbed, and India’s gateway to West Asian digital markets. It also underscores how deeply integrated the two nations have become—from energy and logistics to advanced tech and defence innovation.

India also held productive discussions with the leaders of Netherlands, Switzerland and Greece, focusing on semiconductors, research ecosystems and clean-tech cooperation. But the momentum and strategic clarity exhibited in the India–UAE dialogue positioned Abu Dhabi as the most influential bilateral actor at the summit.

Prime Minister Modi will next join a high-level CEOs Forum with over 50 global executives for detailed conversations on investment flows, regulatory frameworks and scaling AI-led innovation in India.

With wide global participation, the AI Impact Summit not only reinforced India’s leadership in the global AI discourse—but also highlighted the UAE’s central role in shaping the region’s technological future alongside India.
