Amaravati to Expand as Unified Capital Region

Vision for a Larger Capital

N. Chandrababu Naidu has reaffirmed that Andhra Pradesh’s capital, Amaravati, will encompass the municipal corporations of Vijayawada, Mangalagiri, and Guntur. The announcement signals a push toward an integrated urban development model designed to strengthen administration, infrastructure, and economic growth.

Integrated Urban Development

By bringing these key cities under one capital framework, the government aims to create a seamless metropolitan ecosystem. The move is expected to improve connectivity, attract investments, and streamline governance across the region.

Boost to Economy and Infrastructure

A unified capital region could accelerate major infrastructure projects, including roads, public transport, and digital networks. Officials believe this expansion will position Amaravati as a dynamic administrative and economic hub for Andhra Pradesh’s future.
